- Instrument Manager Server Review Recommendations
Due to recent developments with COVID-19, Data Innovations anticipates your Instrument Manager server may see an increased demand on laboratory sample intake and processing. Because of this, we suggest proactive, periodic review of your Instrument Manager server. This review should include:- Checking the status screen and confirming the Disaster Recovery systems are still connected and functioning
- Review the Purge and Archive connections and ensure they are not compromised with an error
- Check the Instrument Manager server hard drive space availability to make sure the added demand on the system is not filling the drives and that there is sufficient room for nightly backups

UPDATE: Instrument Manager driver updates available now for COVID-19 testing
Data Innovations is proud to announce that, working in close collaboration with Roche Diagnostics, we have completed accelerated enhancements, validation, and launch of a driver update required to perform COVID-19 testing on Roche cobas 8800 and 6800 instruments (driver name: rchcb68i).
Update: You can now access and download the driver update for Driver rchcb68i v8.00.0010 from the Data Innovations Customer Web Portal.
You may also contact your regional Data Innovations Customer Support for driver update support.
Please review these additional details regarding Driver rchcb68i v8.00.0010 and assay requirements:
- Driver was updated to support downloading orders for assay SARS-COV-2
- Default mapping has been added for orders and results
- If communication between Instrument Manager and the analyzer is for results only (not orders), the updated driver is not required, and the assay may be added by “Test Code” mapping (for example, labs may use rack ordering where the analyzer will determine the tests based on the rack rather than by querying Instrument Manager)
